During this last month, we have been doing a lot of fun work. We have been learning about China and the Chinese New Year tradition. Natas bought Mr. Curtin a Lego Chinese calendar and we built it for his desk. Check it out in the photo! (Photo 1) We have started reading a new novel called ‘The Thief of Always’ by Clive Barker. It was written in 1983 and is the same age as Mr. Curtin! It has been turned into a Graphic Novel also, so we are comparing both versions. We made covers of the book from different countries around the world. Here is a picture of the Chinese novel cover. (Photo 2) It is Book Fair time in school and we are enjoying looking at all of the fantastic books! (Photo 3) That’s all for now! Paighton 😊
It’s been a few busy weeks in our 6 th Class. On March 2 nd , we had our Confirmation. Father Tim was really lovely and a great day was had by all. Last Thursday, we went on a school outing to Glasnevin Cemetery and The Botanic Gardens. We learnt lots of facts about Daniel O’ Connell, Michael Collins and Charles Parnell. It was interesting to see their graves – especially the grave of Daniel O Connell underneath the large tower! We are currently decorating Shamrocks made for us by Mr. Curtin’s Dad. We’re not sure how much green paint we will have left once we finish them all! 😊
